“I ran the Buckingham half marathon today and loved it! The organisation was superb. The marshals, of which there were many, were fantastic and encouraging. The route was picturesque and, to finish, the free tea/coffee and cake was just the icing on a perfect cake (excuse the pun!). Thank you for a great and extremely friendly half marathon. I will 100% be back next year and I’ll be recommending others to run it too. I have a feeling you will sell out extremely fast!!”

On behalf of Silson AC I just wanted to congratulate Buckingham & Stowe RC on a fabulous first half marathon. Every Silson member who I spoke to at the finish was full of praise not just for the welcome at registration and the ease of picking up numbers and chips, but particularly for the way the course was marshalled. Not only were there plenty of marshals but the support they provided was superb and In fact I think that the race was one of the best marshalled I have competed in.Also the bag drop was really quick and easy to leave and pick up bags and the chip return and medal distribution were both flawless too. Please do pass on our comments to all those involved and hopefully the race will become an annual event. Congratulations again. BK

I just wanted to say a massive thank you for yesterday to everyone involved in both the organisation and the stewarding/other stations. 

It was the most beautiful half marathon I have ever run and all the better for running past home in Wicken. Thank you for your work in getting it going. The water stations and marshals were fantastic.

Just wanted to thank you all for a brilliant event on Sunday. It was my first half, but I’ll definitely be back for more (fingers crossed that it’s on again in 2018)!  
I managed to speak to a few members of your team on Sunday, but not everyone, so please pass on my thanks. Heidi asked me for my feedback, but I really can’t think of anything you could have done better! I know most of you through parkrun which meant that I got lots of great encouragement on the course; but I know that the marshals were just as welcoming to all the unfamiliar faces. The feedback from all the runners I have spoken to has been overwhelming positive.”

“That was a great event. Possibly the best I have ever taken part in, and I am 72 years old! Every aspect of the organisation was superb – the entry process, the marshalling and the provisions at the finish. And Lots of support from the residents along the route. And a lovely course too. Not because it was easy, (because it wasn’t) but one felt one was running in the heart of rural England. A huge “thank you” to all concerned.”

“Really good event, especially for an inaugural race. Well organised and lots of information provided by the organisers both before and on the day. Course was very scenic. Marshalls were very visible, frequent and the support they and the villagers we ran through was fantastic. Lots of water available at the 4 stations. Cake at the finish free for runners was amazing and the fact that all profits went to local charities was a huge plus point.”

“Thank you so much for an excellent event. This was my 22nd half marathon and it’s right up there with the best! It started with such a friendly and well organised registration and carried on with the excellent marshals (of which there were many) who were positioned perfectly and provided excellent encouragement all the way through to the finish, to be met by the lovely WI and their tea and cake. “What a great challenging half you guys gave us. Fantastic organisation from start to finish, lovely (!) distracting course and some great marshals along the way. Also everyone running was very supportive to each other. Those hills were something else but what a fabulous achievement for all taking part and the medal is ace. “Such a well organised event. The marshals were amazing and kept you going with much needed water stops after the tough hills. Great route- although the hills in the last 4 miles were painful- tea and cake at the end made it all worthwhile though.”

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the team of organisers and marshals for today’s event. It was my first ever organised race and I thought that you did a great job. It seemed to go very smoothly, albeit the field had thinned out somewhat by the time I waddled over the line. It’s great that you were able to raise so much cash for some great local charities. A really well organised event set in lovely undulating countryside, the marshals were so supportive and plenty of encouragement along the single lap route from supporters. The start / finish is situated in a great spacious location for families to play in the park or kick a ball about in the huge open field. This is one to add to the planner every year.
